Modulo-Lattice Reduction in Precoding Schemes

چکیده
Precoding [3] is an attractive strategy when transmitting over channels which suffer from additive noise and an additional interference term which is already known at the transmitter side. For example, Tomlinson-Harashima precoding, initially introduced for intersymbol-interference channels, has been extended to the equalization of MIMO channels such as multiple antenna systems [3]. Key point in this precoding scheme is the use of modulo arithmetics, classically done for oneor two-dimensional symbols. The transmission scheme employing mod-Λ precoding is depicted in Fig. 1. In addition to the channel noise n, an

The Modulo-Lattice Channel: The Key Feature in Precoding Schemes
Precoding for transmission over channels with interference known at the transmitter is reviewed. In contrast to what is usually discussed in literature, precoding employing higher-dimensional lattice quantization for generating the transmit signal is assessed. It is shown that thereby the gap between low-complexity schemes using scalar modulo reductions and theoretical asymptotic results assumi...
متن کاملModulo-Type Precoding for Networks
In this chapter, we address scenarios where the tasks of (modulo-type) precoding for the multiple-input/multiple-output (MIMO) broadcast channel, network coding with its associated finite-field matrix channel, and channel coding meet or complement each other. By enlightening dualities, similarities, and differences between the areas and corresponding schemes, a deeper understanding of theirmutu...
متن کاملLow-Complexity Lattice Reduction-Aided Channel Inversion Methods for Large-Dimensional Multi-User MIMO Systems
Low-complexity precoding algorithms are proposed in this work to reduce the computational complexity and improve the performance of regularized block diagonalization (RBD) based precoding schemes for large multi-user MIMO (MUMIMO) systems. The proposed algorithms are based on a channel inversion technique, QR decompositions , and lattice reductions to decouple the MU-MIMO channel into equivalen...
متن کاملImplementation aspects of nonlinear precoding for G.fast - coding and legacy receivers
Hybrid copper/fiber networks bridge the gap between the fiber link at the distribution point and the customer by using copper wires over the last meters. The G.fast technology has been designed to be used in such a fiber to the distribution point (FTTdp) network. Crosstalk management using MIMO precoding is a key to the required performance of FTTdp. With higher frequencies used on copper wires...
متن کاملSelected basis for PAR reduction in multi-user downlink scenarios using lattice-reduction-aided precoding
The application of OFDM within a multi-user downlink scenario is considered. Thereby, two problems occur. First, due to OFDM, the transmit signal exhibits a large peak-to-average power ratio (PAR). Second, the multi-user interferences have to be equalized (or precoded) at the transmitter side. In this article, we address combined precoding and PAR reduction. As precoding schemes sorted Tomlinso...
